O'Keeffe Night

Maybe in London there just aren't quite enough skyscrapers to ever get the impression that you are inside an O'Keeffe painting, but in Sao Paulo there certainly are. These photos do nothing to put this notion across, but because Sao Paulo is a city of high rise buildings as much as it is a South American city, or any kind of city. Whenever I was walking anywhere at night I couldn't help but feel like I was wandering along in a dreamy and perfect O'Keeffe painting. I find cities reassuring places because there are so many signs of life, so many possibilities, so much to discover. I rarely feel trapped in cities because they can be so limitless. You're never going to know every person, every street, there will always be surprises, never boredom. So in the evening with the lights of residential and office windows alike painting themselves onto the dark canvas I feel content that I am alive and so is this city.
